They live in an old house in the forest: five young orphans from families torn apart by tragedy,
oddballs each
in their own way, looked after by Kat, the oldest of them.
With little money for food, repairs, and everything else,
they lead a strenuous yet happy life -
but a youth welfare department claiming the children for itself,
an urban development project intent on
devouring the forest, and a demon from Kat's past threaten to destroy it all.
What's worse, society around them, long on a slow descent into authoritarianism and violence, finally starts collapsing completely.
Will the only choice left be to flee?
